Problem
Home robots fail when control, perception, navigation, and safety are treated as demos instead of an integrated operating system.
MISSY Robot
MISSY Robot is the physical robot effort: a Pi-based household robot with camera, LiDAR, LEGO SPIKE control, robot panel operations, and simulation gates before real motion.
The product philosophy is safety and evidence before spectacle. Navigation, perception, search behavior, and human interaction should only graduate from simulation and dry-run checks when the robot is ready for supervised real-world use.
Home robots fail when control, perception, navigation, and safety are treated as demos instead of an integrated operating system.
Robot Panel is the operator surface for camera, controller, LiDAR, people memory, behavior programs, and simulation playback.
The architecture separates Pi5 brain services from the Pi4 hardware edge, uses LiDAR/ROS2/Nav2 direction, and keeps live motion disabled until gates pass.
The long-term goal is a real household companion that can navigate, search, perceive, and interact while staying recoverable and supervised.
Technical product direction
The next product layer should keep autonomy progress measurable: readiness checks, saved-map simulation, controller reconnect, sensor freshness, emergency-stop behavior, and only then tiny supervised live-motion tests.
